National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Candidate Support Program The Center for Teacher Leadership believes that National Board candidates should have the support of National Board Certified Teachers, fellow candidates, and other mentors as they measure their practice against high and rigorous standards of teaching and learning. That is why CTL developed the National Board Certification Candidate Support Program to provide teachers with structured opportunities to clarify each aspect of the certification process and a network of support as they strive to meet the highest standards established for the profession. Currently, CTL offers the National Board Certification Candidate Support Program to teachers in the Chesterfield, Hanover, Henrico, and Richmond City Public Schools through the Metropolitan Educational Training Alliance (META).
