The U.S.
Department of Education Awards $5.9 Million to the Center for
Teacher Leadership
CTL is the
proud recipient of a $5.9 million U.S. Department of Education grant
to fund the META Teacher Development and Retention Project. Through
close collaboration with
Chesterfield
County,
Hanover, Henrico, and Richmond City Schools, VCU will increase
student achievement by developing and retaining more effective
teachers. Specifically, the project will:
(1)
Enhance the content knowledge and pedagogical skills of
prospective teachers
Interdisciplinary major
Align
content with state standards
Redesign Methods Courses
Teach
Secondary Methods Courses in Schools
(2) Ensure
the consistency and quality of the clinical placements of
preservice teachers
